What is Read&Write literacy software?
Read&Write is a fantastic literacy support platform, designed to help individual learners, right across the curriculum to reach their full potential.
Read&Write has the following features:
How does Texthelp describe their product?
‘Read&Write helps every learner to understand, learn and express themselves with confidence. Used daily by millions of students worldwide, it provides a wide range of helpful features and accessibility supports. Helping to improve students’ reading, writing, comprehension and study skills.Read&Write integrates with the tools that students are familiar with, such as Microsoft Word, Google Docs and the web. This gives students access to consistent support, where and when they need it.’
Read&Write is beneficial for all students, and especially useful to those who have an additional need.
The platform cleverly supports all learners, whether they are at home or in school.
Text can be tailored to individual learning needs.
Text-to-Speech, Translation, Audio and Picture Dictionaries, Text Prediction, grammar and punctuation checkers, and clever Highlighters are just a few of the features that assist learners with individual study and revision.
Not only that, but Voice Notes allow for direct verbal feedback, and Vocabulary List and Audio Maker are matched to the learner, eliminating the need for bespoke learning materials on an individual basis, and freeing up teachers’ time.
Read&Write is based on the Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles, which include making learning inclusive by giving every learner multiple ways to communicate and engage with content on their own terms.
‘Our aim has been to ensure that we meet our accessibility requirements, while also giving every student unrestricted access to all the tools they need. In Read&Write, we’ve found a solution that works across all our schools - primary and secondary.’Education Officer, City Council
“In our school, Read&Write has become an invaluable resource for our pupils with literacy difficulties. Read&Write is used by our pupils to promote independence and to allow our pupils to overcome the barriers to their learning that they have due to their literacy difficulties. As a resource for examinations, it has proven to be invaluable. Its use as a computer reader within exams has given our pupils the opportunity to access the reading materials in a way that they are used to. This greatly reduces any barriers to learning and opens the opportunity for our pupils to achieve their full potential.”
SENCo, Comprehensive School.
Read&Write has the HeadteacherChat Stamp of Approval because:
Read&Write is a high quality product that will remove barriers to learning for lots of learners, support all pupils with learning and encourage them to love literacy. It’s an intuitive platform that will help pupils to gain confidence and improve their independence.
