Summary of Learning during the pandemic: review of research from England

The UK government's Department for Education has released a report summarising research conducted in England during the COVID-19 pandemic on the impact of remote learning on students and teachers. 

​

The report highlights that while remote learning has been effective in some cases, it has also widened the achievement gap between disadvantaged students and their more advantaged peers.

​

The report suggests that teachers need more support to provide high-quality remote learning and that schools need to prioritise the wellbeing of teachers and students during the pandemic.

​

The report also recommends that schools should work to strengthen their relationships with families and communities to provide more holistic support for students.
